  7. Tarcheck is an archive checker and verification tool for TAR or LONE-TAR format
  8. archives. It has 2 levels of data verification. Tarcheck can perform a
  9. bit-level comparison on the hard disk file system. Tarcheck will detect and
  10. report file size changes as well as bit level changes. Tarcheck produces a
  11. detailed summary of any file changes detected. Tarcheck is used similarly to
  12. the ``tar'' command. Tarcheck can span multiple media volumes. It can also
  13. handle files split across multiple volumes. Tarcheck also dynamically
  14. uncompresses and compares LONE-TAR compressed files. Tarcheck is a must for
  15. users and/or system administrators with concern for integrity checking of
  16. backed-up data.
